Zuckerberg and How Much Does it Takes to be the TIME Magazine Person of the Year

The face that logged a thousand shoes. ' We are working hard to build a service that everyone, everywhere can use, whether they are a person, a company, a president or an organisation working for change.' - Mark Zuckerberg

The Face that Logged a Thousand Shoes

I have quit blogging yet can’t quit Googling and found the Person of the Year 2010 article by TIME Magazine who happened to choose Facebook’s Zuckerberg. I can’t help thinking how a Harvard college drop out surpassed the others in the Person in the Year list. He made less controversy than Julian Assange of WikiLeaks. He did not have the most watched video on YouTube as Lady Gaga. Does not have much fans as Justin Bieber. All he had are the following numbers:

Age: 26

No. of years working (as CEO of Facebook): 6

Influence

No. of Employees (in Facebook): 1,700

Clients (Facebook users): 600 M

Assets

Net Worth: $6.9 B

World Billionaire rank: 212 (the 3rd Youngest)

No Google Keyword Search: 673, 000

If we however base the selection criteria from the classification of TIME 100 Most Influential People of the Century, the Person must be either: 1) a Leader or a Revolutionary, 2) a Builder or a Titan, 3) a Scientist or an Inventor, 4) an Artist or an Entertainer, or 5) a Hero or an Icon, Zuckerberg actually fills 3 criteria of only 1 required. He is an internet titan, who invented the social machine facebook, and is an icon in the cyber world. He is multi-dimentional. But is this enough to be the TIME's 2010 Person of the Year?

Time noted the value of change Zuckerberg is doing to the world. He was chosen “for connecting more than half a billion people and mapping the social relations among them; for creating a new system of exchanging information; and for changing how we all live our lives…”

Cautious Candle Consumption

We are like candles as our living earth is. We eat ourselves. But we are not picked-up sticks, wick-moistened till ignition and left vaporizing to waste candelas of lumination to nothingnity. We have to be consumed clean, fragrant and ritualistic as possible. We have to practice responsible self-consumption.

To feign a dictionary, consuption is the action and effect of using or spending property or utility to meet needs or desires. In the world of exchange, it is the final stage of economic process where good or service of some value to the consumer subject are either directly destroyed or transformed into another type of goods or services. The 21st Century is challenging more and more our pattern of consumption. The world government amidst global prosperity, are taking steps to reduce it, reusing the reusable, recycling the recyclable, almost to project a creation-destruction ratio of 1:1, which even in artificial computations remains a project. I say we do not have to stop or reduce burning ourselves as candles deserve to be consumed till the last paraffin molecule. Human satisfaction must not be sacrificed to ephemeral matter. We just have to spend cautiously day by day.

Responsible consumption is mortal awareness that everything we gobble has barter cost: physiologic, financial, social or environmental are a few. Each time we spend we pay with our calorie dump, our monetary earnings, and our specie from our core family to the man world periphery, and the Earth itself – the then green and blue Earth we were educated of. OK, less talk here. Just reflect with a candle.

Again, we have to be consumed clean, fragrant and ritualistic as possible. We have to practice cautious candle consumption.

The Log Jump

For the record, hulag is more than two moths old. It got Alexa’s to 500K overall and top 100K in 11 countries, occasionally enlists in Blog Catalog’s 10 popular blogs with Wangbu as the most poplar blogger and maintains a second rank among Entrecard’s self-improvement blogs. For the record hulag is not being international or being popular and has scanty posts on self-improvement. And this is what Wangbu the procrastinating blogger who learns to move and who wishes hulag to find its identity as “a blog for those who lagged,” wanted to correct. Hence the following innovations for the future of hulaf were proposed:

Holistic Habit Healing
As has been emphasized in promotions, hulag is about “wasting less time as possible.” Thus, the future posts is a promise to focus on blogging life strategies for procrastinators and slow movers which might inspire them self-motivate, begin to move, and to accelerate in the always possible logarithmic proportions. Such posts will further exploit each of categories advanced believing that every angled of an unmotivated person must be viewed to correct the whole.
Managing Measures – Analyzes the status of the individual along the movement highway, how heavy or light his yolk effort, how near or far he is to his goal, how ahead or behind he is among others, how popular or underated he is in the charts, etc. Knowing one's status is the cornerstone of proper self-management, the energizer of self-motivation.
Outsourcing Opinions – Enhances the value of continues learning and relearning from different opinionable minds to stabilize and restabilize or correct and recorrect our movement plans. In doing so we enhances self-security in movement. And self-security kills the procrastinators in individuals.
Tolerating Taboos – Optimizes ones ability to handle alienating adversities that life has legally accepted. Most individuals certainly decelerate movement when facing taboos. This category will teach them to live with it.
Investing Imagination – Fast tracks the future in the eyes of a procrastinator inviting him to move towards an irresistible goal created by himself. This plays with the idea that individuals who loves coloring their future will most likely find their way to get it.
Verifying Values – Draws the limits around the point goal breed and feed by the individual. This category will remind one of his scope and limitation of direction. Along the movement ladder.
Achieving Action – The very goal of motivation.
Tackling Terrorism – The trouble advisory in handle life dilemmas procrastinating or not. Most likely a sequence of shoot or hide tasks.
Improving Interaction – As people needs other people to listen and talk about their laughter and sorrows and to motivate them to keep going.
Occupying Opportunity – The “now” or “tomorrow” master which suggest or reminds proper timing in every action. A self-motivated always knows when is when.
Navigating Nature – The reality scythe which slaps the world as it is to the unbelieving face when hopeful resignation is a must – as life is truly filled with it no matter what.

Ushering and Unbowed Upholstery
A blog is like furniture made of the right platform, structured by an optimal template and adorned by useful widgets. In light of delivering its message clearly, the hulag design seeks transformation into a motivational atmosphere, aligning physical layout with thought framework.
The template with a strong hue of blue and a happy green was chosen to pressure motivation and provide life to the blog. A big search button is inviting. The “h” logo with the meaning of hulag in different languages and the overlaying clock was made appropriate to endorse movement. The “h” is otherwise a wheelchair, as seen in the about page, to remind the person of the disabilitating value of unmotivation. Further self-improvement wisdom expressed through art will craftily be included in future posts to protect, promote and conserve the generic proponents of the blog.
The site aims to be human-eye accommodating and finger-walk tempting down to the footer level. Visually acceptable font style, size and color will be used. The meaning for hulag was in placed for the new comer. One navigational widget widgets was placed at the header and another at the right sidebar to optimize visibility and access. A list of indispensable Blogging Resources was created for consumption of unfamiliar bloggers. The Entrecard button was efficiently positioned both to ease droppers and to attract advertisers. Subscribing and Book Marking widgets were all incorporated in the AddThis button to escape sidebar pollution. The footer was left for a convivial Bumpzee, Blog Catalog and MyBlogLog 16-head squares. Currently, the rest of widgets are just disorganized, forming sort of barrier to the idea of self-motivation as only procrastinators love clutterdom. Spatial order editing with a promise of maintaining blog integrity will be settled soon.

Ladle a Living Lacuna
As a self-motivation blog, this site must sponsor a place for personal solace, companionship, neighborliness, and civility. In the hope of promoting personal growth, intrapersonal and interpersonal interaction being part of it, opportunities for a social space operating within different hierarchy tiers of social relations must be offered.
It must be a place for solitude where individual consciousness could dialog with a rational mind. I believe future posts will be devised to serve so. Certain widgets will soon be sorted to create a heaven for meditation, self-analysis and self-realization.
The blog will design spaces for intimate friendship. The shoutbox widget is not yet unto it. I hope soon it will usher talk of life issues, sorrows, joys and dilemmas especially related to self-motivation. A new widget will be place if shoutbox can not make it.
A cluster of links will soon appropriate neighborliness most especially on other self-motivational sites. The author is also reaching on social directories, social submissions sites and social groups to increase daily visits and upgrade the blog rankings.
The final tier in the hierarchy is community. The blog struggles to find ideas for maintaining the Bumpzee, Blog Catalog and MyBlogLog undeserted. It aims that such self-motivation communities will actually strike action and promote interaction among the hearts of its members.

Amendable Advertising Ally
The envisioned advertising probability is not far from just a two month old blog. The rankings are telling it is too early to monetize yet some opportunity systems such as the entrecard allowing hulag to sneak to the top 30 most popular are increasing. The author is not denying generating income from this in the future. Scope and delimitations of advertising is still unclear.

Granting Growth Guides
The final aim of this blog about self-improvement is to extend free consults on personal growth and development. But certainly it is not feasible yet as the author himself claims of being just “a procrastinator who learns to move” and not an expert psychologist or psychiatrist. The future is still open though. For the meantime, just enjoy blog hopping over hulag.

You One-Month Blog

You blog of log, my mental expectorant,
From whose, effort my procrastination rest,
And willed to move, accept this monthsary chant

That hails you as high-end stage of best
Tool conceived. You facilitated conversion
Of Pro-blogger to move-adviser by tapping a fest

Of words exhibiting an unproven mission
In the time-era proven civilization of blogging:
To invite a procrastinator to exemplify motivation.

You fairly augmented in the snowballing
Of well-known and marked anti-pro fights
Whose efforts made one and many to value moving.

Yet in terms of luster, temp and height,
You are still a neonate, untwisting B-spot log
Seeking hide of startling abilities in the dusky light,

Hungered by comments, near monologue,
Finding contentment in containing backseat,
Willing to climb high yet unrushing to leap-frog.

Still skinning, uncoiling and growing to fit,
Keep flexing your x as every change in your y
Saluting to what in time-moment you will meet.

Despite your wounded privacy mania sighs
There you stick to a non-Mendeleev-table trust
That the weight is heaviest on the ones who will cry

Of labors to inspire others to inspire and cast
A melodic pay-it-forward in the motivation thrust.

In the Beginning

In the beginning, I will confess that I don't know blogs. They are as homely as pajamas but as world wide as the web, as everywhere as bad words yet posts were as priceless as uranium, though as social as the neon crowd still as personal as your self. But I have stumbled upon them so why won't I dig through and re edit my knowledge of this delicious blogs? The social media cited were a few to delimit the undersized scope of how I know blogs from the surface. In depth, however, I found Blogs as the 21st century editions of serialized novels of the likes of Dickens and Tolstoy from which they earn cents in sending their works on tabloids on daily basis. Their difference is that they developed into forms I have mentioned in the second sentence which were less tragic to the writers.

In the beginning, the word “development” is not necessary. You can start in less than scratches: “I don't know blogs” is an example. But that is only in the beginning. The thought that I dove in to it, created my own, and planned to perpetuate it is by now part of development. Yes we have to develop ourselves. It is the job of the living being to find out and develop the latent potential inherent in life. Blogs and the rest of the web were inkless innovations of post Guttenberg printed dailys, which were adjustments of classical scribbles, which evolves from carved stone tablets of Hammurabi times, which in turn developed further back from the pure sign language world. Things, living, dead or unknown, develop. We have to develop to something... OK, I'll leave the future of your own development to your discretion but not to the point where you have to wear prison clothes. We just have to develop. Settled.

In the beginning, I don't know how to develop this blog. Or even just this post. I don't want to camouflage as if I'm really prepared to write or prepared to expand what I know about motivation, et. al. I fear that I can't write beyond each word, that I can not push to a logarithmic point, and that I lag down to procrastination out of fear of failure. A problem cycle. But I must leave failure to nature as where it is. There is no honor in sacrificing human potential to the horror of failure. But I won’t totally disregard the possibility of failure, otherwise we will just form self lies to what lies ahead. I decide to move and keep moving to the last dot of this post. In fact I already brought up three relevant points in managing self measurements which are basics to move on:

  • Measuring Your Self
Ex: acknowledging what you do and don't know
  • Improving Self Measurements
    Ex: deciding to develop
  • Precondition to Errors in Measurements
Ex: recognizing the possibility of failure

In the beginning, we have to decide, especially the answers to questions of: who, what, where, when, why, and how. They are everyday encounters which promote intellectual autonomy and self acquaintances which further guide us to understanding our measurements. I want to start a post series on this. How I wish I won't bore you next time. Have I?
